#ResearchPowersProgress: Help Us Protect and Promote UCLA Research

One of the three parts of UCLA's mission, research lets us ask big questions, uncover new knowledge, and create innovations that improve lives.

We're asking people involved in UCLA research, or who have benefited from UCLA research, to help us promote its importance and what's at risk if federal funding is suspended again. Whether you’re a researcher pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, an alum whose life was shaped by a discovery, a UCLA Health patient who benefited from our healthcare innovations, a staff member supporting the research enterprise, or a donor helping fuel this work, we’d love to hear your story.

By sharing informal videos or written messages, you can help us advocate for federal support and help UCLA continue its critical research mission.

Submissions may be featured across UCLA’s communications channels (websites, social media, newsletters, email) and may be shared with the media. By submitting this form, you grant UCLA permission to use your name, likeness, and submitted content in institutional marketing, advocacy, and media communications. See terms and conditions.

What is your UCLA affiliation? *
If you're a UCLA employee, what is your title and department?
If you're a professor or researcher, what is your area of research?
If you're a professor or researcher, has your research been suspended?
Here are a couple ways to get involved:

1. Record an informal testimonial video about the importance of UCLA research
In your video, talk about the impact of our research, how it has benefited you or benefits society, and/or what's at risk due to the suspension of funding.

Guidance on recording videos: Record vertically using your smartphone. Keep your video under 60 seconds. Speak clearly in plain language. Use a quiet, well-lit space with a neutral background.
2. Write a short message about the importance of UCLA research
In your message, talk about the impact of our research,  how it has benefited you or benefits society, and/or what's at risk due to the suspension of funding. Feel free to also post your message on your social media (tag @UCLA and use the hashtag #ResearchPowersProgress)

Guidance on messages: Keep your submission under 200 words. Use clear, plain language. Focus on real-world impact. Avoid jargon. We may lightly edit for clarity.

If you submitted a video to our Box folder and would like to be tagged when we share your submission on social media, please share your social media usernames.
For example: @JoeBruin on X, @Joe-Bruin on LinkedIn, @JoeBruin1988 on Instagram
Are you willing to be contacted by our media relations office to share your story with the media?
