Hostile Scholarship on Transgender, Non-binary and Intersex Persons Report Form
Welcome! This form was created by The Advancing Trans, Non-Binary, and Intersex Scholarship Committee, a subcommittee of the Sociologists for Trans Justice organization (https://www.s4tj.com)

Sociologists for Trans Justice is an organization with a three-fold mission: 1) To support trans, non-binary, and intersex scholars in sociology; 2) To advance trans, non-binary, and intersex studies in sociology; and 3) To increase public understanding of trans, non-binary, and intersex issues. We write to you today with concerns related to all three of those goals.

Please use this form to report academic work that perpetuates hostile discrimination, misunderstanding, and injustices against or are exclusive of trans, non-binary, and intersex people and communities.

The Committee will examine the scholarship that is submitted with this form. We will address inaccuracies and injustices by writing to scholars, journals, universities, and other appropriate audiences indicating why this research is hostile and how it should be corrected. We will also publicize our responses so that sociologists can counter hostile and exclusive research with research that will advance the rights of trans, non-binary, and intersex people and communities.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to subcommittee members Maggie Nanney (mnanney@vt.edu), Danya Lagos (danya@uchicago.edu), Heather McKee Hurwitz (heather.hurwitz@gmail.com), or the Sociologists for Trans Justice Co-Chairs Daniel Laurison (daniel.laurison@gmail.com) and Laurel Westbrook (laurelwestbrook@gmail.com).
