Your ideas for the Georgetown University Energy Prize

The South Burlington Energy Committee is leading South Burlington's participation in a national energy efficiency/conservation contest with a $5 million prize (guep.org). Besides environmental and health benefits, reducing our fossil fuel usage helps the the budgets of our residents, businesses and city and school operations. Since most of the money we spend on energy leaves the city and state, every dollar we save on energy means another dollar to spend and invest in our local economy.

The GUEP is a 2-year competition among cities to see who can design and implement the best electric and natural gas efficiency/conservation projects for residents, schools, and municipal operations. We need your help to make a dramatic impact and lead the way for towns nationwide. For the next few months we'll be collecting ideas and designing innovative, replicable, and scalable programs, and we'll start implementation in January 2015.

Your ideas and participation are critical, so please share your thoughts.
