PyCon Australia is the national conference for the computer programming language named Python. Python has a reputation for being easy to learn, but is powerful enough for use in university courses and many industries.

This year, the conference is being held in Brisbane and we're running some free workshops based around Python. The workshops are designed for beginners. The workshops will run on Friday 1st August, from 10am to 4pm. They will be held at The Edge, part of the State Library of Queensland at South Brisbane. Coffee, food and drink will be available at the venue.

Which Workshop? *

Introduction to Programming (Friday 1st August, 10am-4pm) After this workshop, you'll understand the fundamentals of programming and will be able to solve simple programming problems, and know where to start on hard problems.

Introduction to Electronics (Friday 1st August, 10am-4pm) After this workshop, you'll have a basic understanding of Current, Voltage and Resistance. You'll have experience making sound, light and movement. You will get to use industry standard computing and electronic platforms and get to take them home for further experimentation.

You don't need to bring your own laptop and we won't be picking people who can over those who can't, we just need to know numbers.
