The rhetoric of the past election cycle has insulted and threatened many of us. The Women’s March on Washington Massachusetts Chapter seeks to unite women and allies across social, cultural, religious, political and economic identities to demand justice. We are guided by our commitments to: • Women’s Rights – Women’s rights are human rights. • Intersectionality – We commit to being cognizant of the interconnected nature of social categorizations while striving to eliminate systems that discriminate against or disadvantage women. • Community Focus - We actively unite women across social, cultural, racial, religious, political, and economic communities in fighting for the rights of all women.
In the spirit of democracy and honoring the champions of human rights, dignity, and justice who have come before us, we join in diversity to show our presence in numbers too great to ignore. We stand together, recognizing that defending the most marginalized among us is defending all of us.
We, the undersigned, stand with the Massachusetts Chapter and will not rest until women have parity and equity at all levels of leadership in society. Women’s rights are human rights. We work peacefully while recognizing there is no true peace without justice and equity for all.
