On Monday March 4, 2013, the Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey hosts World Cares Center to deliver a flood response and safety training workshop to Jewish community leadership of various institutions, agencies, and synagogues who are key contacts for emergency preparedness. The training will enhance participants’ and their agencies’ and community’s ability to mitigate damage from flooding caused by a terrorist attack or natural disaster, leading to the improved health and resilience of the community.
The training will enhance participants’ abilities to improve community flood preparedness and response capabilities to terrorist attack on infrastructure or environmental occurrence causing flood related issues, as well as their capability to organize citizens for evacuation.
Topics to be addressed:
1. How to set up flood response teams
2. Team management using the incident command system
3. Procedures to respond safely and effectively in a coordinated manner
4. Disaster response physical and emotional self-care
Training materials will be provided to each participant.
