It's a requirement for my major or minor.
I'm interested in this topic.
I don't know why I'm here. It's pretty much an accident.
I'm retaking this course to earn a better grade.

Online learning requires that you be self-disciplined and motivated. Truth be told, most online students concede that the GVSU online  courses are more rigorous than what they typically experience in the face-to-face courses, but well worth it for those who are self-directed learners. As an online student, you are expected to spend sufficient time during the course to complete the required readings and written assignments. Your full participation on a weekly basis is not only a requirement; it is an essential aspect of online courses in general. At minimum, you should be logging into our Blackboard course at least two times a day. In addition to the discussion board, journal tool and other applications that will engage you with your peers, you are also expected to check your GVSU email frequently or have your GVSU email forwarded to an email address that you DO check regularly.   Why did you choose to take this as an online class?

Online learning takes significantly more time and effort than physically meeting for class. Specifically, I will expect you to commit at least 9 -12 hours a week on mindful work on the course. You can find details about each of these in the Syllabus on Blackboard.  Are you willing to commit at least 9 - 12 hours of time each week to our class?
