香港海洋公園保育基金（保育基金）在2023年再度獲環境及自然保育基金（環保基金）資助，舉辦以保育本地原生淡水龜和淡水生境為主題的教育項目，並透過導賞、學生大使計劃、淡水龜及淡水生態教育展館以及製作教材，提升市民對本地淡水生境生物多樣性的關注和理解。
《眼斑水龜歷險記》作為計劃中的一部份，旨在提高公眾對保育淡水龜及淡水生境的認知，以及倡議個人層面的保育行為。此繪本希望增潤幼兒教育工作者及小學教師分別於幻稚園「大自然與生活」的學習範疇及小學常識科的「人與環境」課程指引之教學資源。
Under the funding of Environment and Conservation Fund (ECF), the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation, Hong Kong (OPCFHK) has carried out various conservation projects related to local freshwater turtles and freshwater ecology. Through different field tours, student programs, exhibitions and education materials, we hope to raise public awareness of the local freshwater turtles and their habitat.
"The Adventures of Beale's eyed Turtle" is part of the conservation project, which aims to increase the public's concern for local freshwater turtles. This storybook can be used as additional learning support for kindergarten and primary school teachers.
