I would enjoy receiving your application to join the 91st Bombardment Group (H), But I want to be sure that you understand who we are, what we do, and, more importantly, what is expected of you if you proceed to Join our group.

We are not a virtual airline, nor are we a virtual military simulation, we are a re-enactment group, focused on recreating the actual missions flown by B17s in WWII, specifically those flown by the squadrons that made up the 91st Bombardment Group out of RAF Bassingbourn by the Ragged Irregulars. We also offer a variety of flying in different venues and aircraft as a support mechanism to maintain the active status of our pilots and provide ample opportunity for our pilots to train and maintain the skills necessary to participate successfully in our missions. These missions are 4 to 6 hrs in duration. It takes practice to achieve the level of skill where you will be comfortable maintaining your position for these extended periods.

Please understand that this is not an attempt to dissuade you from joining the 91st, but experience has shown us that quality is far more important than quantity, it is easy to recruit “members” to the Group. However, We are looking for Active pilots, who are determined to dedicate the time and effort required to develop and maintain the skills necessary to participate in a contributory manner in our Re-enactment Missions. Yes there is a lot of Fun Stuff too.

To help you master the legendary B17 and the fine art of formation flying. We offer an extensive Mandatory Training program that we call the Hop List. These Hops are a long series of flights flights of less than an hour up to grueling 12 hr flights. The goal is to learn to fly correct Box formations for extended periods of flight during Mission reenactments. We also offer a Certified Pilot Program designed to teach you to be a B-17 Flight Instructor and Check Rider.

All of your 91st flight activity should take place while you are in "Free Flight" in FSX or Lockheed Martin Prepare3D connected to to other Pilots with JoinFS and while you are in the 91st Channels on our Teamspeak 3 Server.

We supply you with custom Scenery, Effects, Aircraft Textures and Flight Plans, Custom Mission Weather and a whole lot of fun. Note that all this material is proprietary and should not be used outside of the 91st.

We also welcome Veterans and their Relatives who may be here to observe. Observers will still need a good internet connection and a copy of FSX or Lockheed Martin Prepare3D, JoinFS and Teamspeak3 communications in order to hear and see the action from the Tower. If you are joining as a Veteran or a Relative, Let me know this when you complete this application.

The Joining Process is:

1 - Complete and Submit this Formal Application.

2 - We will review approve your completed Application and send you an emailed Invitation to Join the Website.

3 - We will meet you in Teamspeak and bring you up to speed with the Group, Welcome Aboard!

From this point on, Introduce yourself in the Forum and Log into Teamspeak to learn the ropes.

Above all, Have Fun.and remember that Membership in the 91st is a Privilege, it is not a Right.

Thank you and God Bless,
vColonel Stephen *Seatime* Scott
