ENVS 2000 Fee Scholarship Application
ENVS 2000 is a field based lab course that counts for science lab GE credit. The class travels to Catalina Island off the coast of southern California on a four-day/three-night trip. Up to 72 students travel with a team of eight faculty from different fields to learn about the natural history of the island. The trip is required to pass the class.

Fall semester dates: October 2-5, 2021
(departure time is 6 am and return is generally 10-11 pm depending on traffic)

The lab fee of $500 covers the cost of the bus to the coast, the ferry to the island, and all activities, meals and lodging on the island.

The DSU Office of Community Engaged Learning and the Outdoor Leadership Academy are excited to offer fee scholarships for ENVS 2000 to students belonging to the following groups:

1. Racial/Ethnic minorities
2. Students with a disability (psychological disabilities count)
3. LGBTQIA+
4. Students from low socioeconomic backgrounds (ie you qualify for Pell grants)
*** at this time, we unfortunately cannot fund international students

We will start to review applications on April 12th and will continue to review them until we run out of money.
