2020 Future Teachers of Color Conference -Call for Proposals
On January 8, 2020, the Center of Pedagogy at Montclair State University will host a Future Teachers of Color Conference for high school and college students who are interested in becoming future educators. The conference will provide two tracks of workshops for both college and high school students.

This year’s conference theme is Leading for Change: Inspiring and Motivating a Diverse Teacher Workforce. The conference will be a space for high school and college students to engage in workshops and discuss issues related to preparation and awareness of the teaching profession in the context of social justice, diversity, and equity. The conference will provide students with an opportunity to network with like-minded peers and support their aspirations in the pursuit of teaching as a profession.

We invite you to submit interactive, engaging, and age-appropriate workshop proposals that align with the conference theme and addresses topics such as, cultural competency in education, deconstructing social justice in the context of education; preparation strategies to take teacher education standardized entrance exams; art expression as a method of promoting diversity; leadership development; STEAM in education, inclusion and teaching special education, etc.

The deadline to submit proposals is Friday, November 22, 2019. For any questions, contact Kristyn Casselle at cassellek1@mail.montclair.edu.
