Kent Gleaning Network is coordinating the following gleaning days. We warmly invite you to sign up for these events in advance and will send out further details in the week running up to each event.

Additional gleaning days will be added as we learn of more crops across the county in need of rescue. We aim to give 1-2 weeks notice of gleaning events but this is not always possible.

Monday 25th November 2019- 11am-3pm where we'll be gleaning potatoes and cabbages from a farm near Wingham. Due to the use of harvesting knives on this glean it is not suitable for volunteers under the age of 16 years old.

We strive to make our gleaning days family friendly but on occasions when we have to use harvesting knives, we may not be unable to accommodate volunteers under the age of 16.

Please note that some of these gleans may be quite small, requiring only a small number of volunteers and priority will be given to those with the shortest journey to the farm.

Volunteers will be sent information regarding the gleaning day (including travel arrangements) in the week leading up to the event..

Liftsharing is an important part of gleaning; enabling those without a car to attend and reduce our impact. We can cover some travel expenses (mileage allowance at 23p per mile up to £12 per volunteer travelling in the vehicle).

I have a car and am happy to offer lifts to other volunteers. I am happy for my email and phone number to be passed onto other gleaning volunteers (and/ or deliver produce) who need a lift.
