Blue Ridge View Student Ministry is a tight-knit community, and we are incredibly grateful for our youth and their families. When we first began attending BRV, the Tate family was among the first to welcome us with open arms. It has been such a blessing watching Mason, McKenzie, and Marissa grow in their passion for serving the Lord through our Youth Praise Team. We are so proud of each of them and deeply care for their family.
Over the past year, we have watched them navigate a very difficult season — facing challenges with their housing situation while both parents have dealt with serious medical issues. It is hard to see such a wonderful family go through so much, but we rest in the truth that God is in control. Through every test, every hospital stay, every trip to MUSC, and every medication change, we believe the Lord is walking with them and will continue to provide.
Most recently, Khristie has been diagnosed with breast cancer and will be undergoing surgery soon. We appreciate your prayers for her and her family as they face another difficult journey, trusting the Lord to provide strength, peace, and healing in the days ahead.
As a Youth Group, we want to rally around the Tate family in a tangible way. We have designed a special church t-shirt, and all proceeds from sales will go directly to the Tate family to help with medical expenses. The shirts are super soft and carry a message that feels tailor-made for this moment:
"From the Mountains to the Valleys, God is Faithful"
What a reminder that truth is! Psalm 121:1-2 tells us, "I will lift up my eyes to the hills — from where does my help come?" We are grateful for a God who helps, and we are asking you to keep this precious family covered in prayer.
