You are invited to participate in a day of service to honor Martin Luther King's life and legacy on January 20, 2014!
The day of service will include opportunities for people of all ages to provide service to the broader community. The day begins with registration from 12:30-1:00 at Faith Lutheran Church and includes a pre-service discussion, service projects at a variety of service sites, a program at 5:00, and a community meal served from 5:30-7:00! The program and meal are open to the public. Transportation to and from service sites, parking, and the meal are free. UMM students living on campus may also take advantage of free transportation to and from Faith Lutheran Church.
Projects range from working with elders to sorting and shelving donations to assisting with fundraisers for local non-profits. We will ask you to identify projects that interest you here, and you will have the opportunity to make a final decision about your project on January 20th during registration.
Please consider attending as a family! Children's activities will be available for children ages four and older so that parents with younger children who wish to participate in a service project can do so. Some service projects will be appropriate for families to do together. If you are attending as a family, only one adult in the family needs to complete this registration form.
Get to know other community members, learn about volunteer opportunities in Morris, and provide a needed service for a community organization! Make this Martin Luther King Day a day on, not a day off!
