Fair Pay and Safe Workloads - DJE3
We, the undersigned workers at DJE3, make the following demands for safety and fairness:

STARTING PAY TO MATCH TARGET AND WALMART: Workers at Target and Wal-mart distribution warehouses nearly next door to our warehouses start at $21 and $22/hr for similar work. We make plenty of money for Amazon with our hard work and deserve to have our starting pay raised to $22/hr to match.

VET AND VET+, NOT MET: Amazon has nearly twice the injury rate of the warehousing industry and nearly all of the injuries are from repetitive stress and strain. Many of us need our days off to recover. Amazon’s injury rate spikes during peak when MET forces us to work more and rest less. We demand Amazon use VET and VET+ (VET shifts with additional pay) to meet staffing needs, not MET.

FOCUS ON ACTUAL SAFETY, LET US HAVE OUR MUSIC: Amazon workers are injured from overwork, not listening to music. The music on the loudspeakers is just as loud as having one earbud in. At UPS, workers are allowed to wear one earbud and they have a lower injury rate than Amazon. Each of us getting to choose what we listen to improves everyone’s mood. Allow us to wear one headphone/earbud.
