Study Abroad Scholarship Application for Direct Exchange Programs
The Office of International Programs at the University of Maine has available scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,000 for all direct exchange programs.
ELIGIBILITY
-Must be enrolled at the University of Maine as a degree-seeking student.
-Must be accepted by, or in the process of applying to, one of the direct exchange programs offered by the University of Maine.
APPLICATION MATERIALS:
- Unofficial Transcript
- Essay, up to 500 words
- Be prepared to answer financial aid questions.
ESSAY PROMPT
Why is this program a good fit for you? How would this study abroad program enhance your academic and career goals? How are you preparing for your upcoming cultural immersion?
DEADLINES
All application materials must be submitted by the scholarship deadline.
-March 22nd for fall semester abroad
Applicants whose materials are incomplete or received by the Office of International Programs (OIP) after the deadline will not be considered.
AWARD PROCESS
The scholarship recipient will be notified within 6 weeks following the scholarship application deadline. The Scholarship will be disbursed with the UMaine financial aid funds for the semester when the student will be abroad.
