SECS Pumpkin Compositing Event - Volunteering
Sign up to volunteer for our Pumpkin Composting Event!

On Saturday, November 4th from 10 am - 2 pm, SECS will be collecting pumpkins for the city-wide Pumpkin Smash Event at the Landscape Recycling Center, which is happening from 11 am - 3 pm. 

We will have drop-off locations at Grainger Library, Ikenberry Commons, FAR/PAR, and Channing Murray. Students will bring their pumpkins to these drop-off locations and drivers from SECS will transport them to the Landscape Recycling Center.

We will need a fair number of drivers for this event, so please indicate below if you have a car that you are willing to use to transport pumpkins. Additionally, we will have volunteers drive through residential areas in Urbana and Champaign and go door-to-door to ask residents if they have any pumpkins they would like to donate.

If you fill out this form, you will receive an email a few days before the event clarifying your job assignment for the day of the event. 

If you volunteer at this event, can get volunteer hours for different organizations including James Scholars, APO, Frats, etc. Just let us know!

Please note that we will be providing drivers with tarps, if they do not have one, so their trunk does not get messy from the pumpkins.
