Master Class in Watercolor with Dianne Murray
September 4, 11, 18, and 25
Wednesdays 1-4pm

Join us this September while we explore the process of creating beautiful paintings from conception to completion. We will discuss finding subjects, refining the subjects to form a strong composition and focusing on values and lighting. We will also explore Realism and Impressionism and finding your style. Students will be allowed to choose their own subjects and will take the painting to full completion. We will also cover matting and choosing frames.

Advanced Watercolor Supplies

Professional-grade paints only
(My preferred brands are Sennelier, M Graham, DaVinci and Daniel Smith. Windsor Newton professional are ok.)

Bring all your paints, but be sure to have these colors:
-Warm red (Pyrol or similar Pr254) WN Red or Bright red (Sennelier) -Payne’s Gray
-Cool Red (Quin Magenta or Permanent Rose) -Burnt Sienna
-Cool Blue (Phalo Blue PB15)green shade -Dioxazine Violet(optional)
-Alizarin Crimson(optional) -Cerulean Blue
-Warm Blue (Ultramarine or Cobalt) -Raw Sienna
-Warm yellow (Nickle Azo/New Gamboge/WN Transparent Yellow) -Cool Yellow (Lemon py3/Hansa light)

-Assortment of brushes-Large, medium, small rounds(2, 4, 6,10 or 12)
-1 inch or 3/4 flat and a liner or script brush -Pencil and eraser
-Fan brush for oil (stiff) -Water container, spray bottle, Viva paper towels
-Watercolor boards and/or watercolor paper. - Palette
140 blocks are easier but you can stretch paper if you like. 9x12 Arches is my favorite.
-Masking fluid -Pebeo Drawing Gum or Fineline Masquepen, Windsor Newton or Daniel Smith.
Fineline is the easiest to work with.
-Windsor Newton Designer Gouache or Dr. PH Martin Bleed-Proof White
-Strathmore Visual Journal 140 Lb watercolor for practice -Small mister bottle
-Graphite transfer paper -White Gouache
-Palette knife if you have one -color wheel
-Ruler -Drinking straw
-Sea sponge -Tooth brush
