VRC Hardship Fund Request Form
The VRC Hardship fund is intended to provide financial assistance directly to PSU Veteran students who are experiencing a financial hardship.
  • Priority is given to circumstances which are specific and exigent and can be reasonably applied to alleviate some hardship.
  • Grants are limited to Veterans and some Veteran/Military-affiliated students (spouses, dependents, etc.).
  • Due to a limited amount of funds, one-time grants will be limited to a total of $200.
  • Approved grants can take up to a week to process.
This fund is not intended for tuition, but to support individuals or their families basic needs.  If you are a Veteran and need support to continue your education, please consider applying to the ODVA Bridge Grant.

Before you get started:
  1. Hardship funds are taxable.
  2. Report hardship fund payments as income when you file income taxes.
  3. Hardship fund recipients must provide the appropriate IRS form prior to payment being issued.
Method of payment and taxation is determined by your residency status:
  • US Citizens and Resident Aliens: Payments will be issued directly from the PSU Foundation. These payments are taxable income, but TAXES ARE NOT WITHHELD at the time of payment.
  • Non-resident aliens: payments will be processed by PSU and charged to the VRC's Foundation Index, and are taxed at the time of payment.
