Please fill out the registration form below if you would like to attend our June 8th orientation from 9:00am -12:00pm at Mount Rainier National Park, near the Longmire Visitor Center.

Thank you!

Your MeadoWatch Team

Please provide us with your name. *
Your answer
Please provide us with an email address. We will use this to send you directions to the Orientation (at Mt. Rainier NP), as well as information on how to sign up for hikes (so please make sure the address is correct). *
Your answer
How many people, including yourself, will you bring to the orientation? *
Your answer
Are you a new or returning volunteer? If so, please tell us approximately how long you have been with the program! *
Please tell us which of our hikes you would like to go on (we have two). This will help us assess how many materials (pamphlets, data sheets) to bring to Orientation for volunteers. Note - we will send you information on how to sign up for hiking dates on these trails later. If you would like more information on the two hikes, please see our website (http://www.meadowatch.org/our-hikes.html). Please check both trails if you are planning on hiking on both. *
Required
There is a lot of interest in MeadoWatch, and we often have to turn potential volunteers away after our orientations fill. One of the biggest limitations to our expanding the program to more trails is the time it takes us to conduct trail maintenance (weekly trips to our hikes to add new markers and replace markers). This summer, we would like to explore feasibility of two approaches to alleviate this constraint. One option is 'marker-less' trails, which only differ from our classic trails in that plots are defined by natural landmarks (i.e. we still provide datasheets and pamphlets). A second possibility is for us to provide 2-3 returning MeadoWatch volunteers with materials so they can help us with trail maintenance (this would require a more regular commitment to hiking that trail - e.g. 4+ times per summer). If you are a returning volunteer and are potentially interested in helping us test these options, please indicate this here.
Thank you for registering for a MeadoWatch Orientation! We are happy to have lots of interested volunteers, however our volunteer capacity is limited by space and trail traffic. If you decide that you are no longer able to attend this orientation, please let us know ASAP (email mwatch@uw.edu) so we can open up your spot to someone else.
