Comic Book Club for Kids! (Inquiry form)

Hi parents! My name is Rose, and I started this comic book club because I love comics! I'm a mom, paraprofessional, and comic artist! I've noticed that many kids struggle with independent reading throughout the schools i've worked at, and my goal is to get them excited about reading again! Through comics, webtoons, graphic novels, and maybe some art!

Here's what we'll do each week:


- Introduce ourselves

- Read a chapter in the comic together

- Discuss what we've liked about the comic, the characters, and the artwork.

- Recap the story to build reading and comprehension skills

- Play Blooket games with questions based on what we read. (maybe other games as well)

- Make friends in a fun, welcoming community


Details

  • When: Weekly, starting November 2026
  • Cost: $40 for the month, and $20 for any additional siblings. (4 weeks of online reading, with physical copy of the comic book included.) 
  • Payment: Zelle or Venmo
  • Reading aloud: Totally optional! Kids can listen and follow along, though participating is always encouraged.
  • In-person meetup for NJ Residents: At the end of the month, we may host a get-together at a comic shop or bookstore near Montclair, NJ.
  • Location: You don't need to live in New Jersey to join! This club is only virtual*
  • Comic book: comic books are provided! If you live out of state it will be ordered for you.
