EA Youth Advisory Group Application Overview
Dear applicant,

The YAG has been a part of the governance in athletics since the very first meeting in January 2011. Since then the group has evolved and works more closely with Home Countries under guidance from England Athletics who have taken ownership of the group and its operations. Within it we act as role models within the sport, as the YAG is considered to be at the forefront of best practice for young leaders within the UK.

Each year we seek for new members to join the team, that will bring fresh and exciting ideas, but also a breadth of experience that supplements and adds value to the group as an entirety.

This is perhaps where you come in...

So it's come to that time when we are looking for new members to join our team… And one of them could be YOU!

All applicants must:

* Be aged 16 to 27 - with max age in tenure being 29.
* Have experience in the sport in any of the following capacities: Administrator, Athlete, Coach, Educator, Leader, Media, Official, Spectator, Team Manager, or Volunteer.

If you are passionate about athletics, have the desire to improve the sport for all and wish to be a voice for young people within the sport, then we would love to hear from you. So make sure you APPLY!

* Meeting new people interested in improving the sport
* Attending athletics events
* CPD opportunities and employability skills
* Working as a team to achieve tasks and challenges set

Open: NOW!

The chosen ones: Decided on 16th April; informed shortly after, if not on the day.

Applicant feedback: Sent on the 23rd April, to unsuccessful shortlisted applicants.

Each new member will have a six-month probationary period to decide if being in the YAG is something you really wish to be a part of. At the end of this time you are upgraded to become an official full member of the YAG. Congrats!

Don’t worry! We have a mentoring system with the YAG which means that there is someone there to support you with as little or as much as you think you will need throughout your time on the YAG.
