Michigan City’s Patriotic Parade
You are cordially invited to participate in Michigan City’s Patriotic Parade on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11 am. Lineup begins at 9 am. All pre-judged units must be in line by 9:30 am. Trophies will be awarded for pre-judged units before the parade starts.

Please return your application as soon as possible, spaces are limited. Deadline to submit your application is Friday, June 23, 2017 at 4 pm to the Park Office in the lower level of City Hall. Your application will be given to local media who will be announcing parade units during the parade. It is to your advantage to be as informative as possible. Please write legibly and make sure information is complete. Please provide an email address and phone number with the area code so we may contact you if we have questions regarding your application. Applications must be approved by the Superintendent of the Michigan City Park Department.

RULES
All drivers must have a valid driver’s license. Nothing may be thrown or squirted along the parade route, you may hand items to spectators. No unsafe actions are allowed. All units must continue in a forward motion. If walkers, or your unit stop and delay the parade, you will be asked to exit the parade at the nearest side street.

The parade lineup will be published in The News Dispatch a few days prior to the parade.

Units 1-66 check in at the corner or Tilden Avenue and Arthur Street

Units 67-84 and 150 and up check in at the corner of Wabash Street and Pytynia Parkway

Units 85-149 check in on Franklin Street at Valentine Court

I/we apply for entry in the Michigan City’s Patriotic Parade at our own risk and agree that any injury, loss or damage incurred from any cause to property and/or person(s) which are entered will be my/our responsibility and therefore no claim will be made against and I/we hereby release the City of Michigan City, Indiana, Michigan City Board of Works and Safety, Michigan City Parks and Recreation Department, Parade Sponsors and volunteers (individually and collectively “Releasees”) from any injury, loss or damage incurred from any cause to property and/or person(s). I/we further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releaseees for all claims for any injury, loss or damage incurred from any cause to property and/or person(s) arising from an accident caused directly or indirectly by an employee, parade participant, parade observer or entry of mine. I/we are responsible for obtaining parental consent for anyone under the age of 18. By signing this form I/we acknowledge having received and read the rules.
