Hello Parents! 35 Parent Chaperone Spots open for the 6th Grade Morehead Planetarium and Science Center Trip.

chaperones are selected through a lottery system to ensure all interested parents have an equal opportunity to participate

TRIP DATE: Feb 27, 2026

Do not complete this form until AFTER you have registered your student on MyPaymentsPlus. 

If you do not register your child, they will not be allowed to go and you'll be taken out of the lottery.

DEADLINE TO COMPLETE THIS FORM: Jan 30, 2026 (no exceptions)
CHAPERONE FEE: $20 
VOLUNTEER HOURS: 10
Bring a bagged lunch, all disposable and wear UA Spirit Wear if you have it.  

SCHEDULE: (subject to change)
2/25 & 2/26 Parents must sign in at front office and get visitors sticker. Do not wait until the morning of 2/27.
6:45 - 7:00 AM Students and chaperones must arrive on time. 
7:00 AM Buses parked, North Loop - Parents need to bring lunch coolers to the 1st Bus. 
7:15 AM Boarded + Safety Talk, DEPART. Parents can leave at this time. 
10:15 AM Arrive at Museum
1:45 PM Depart
4:45 PM Arrive at UA  

All Parents must drive themselves to the Museum.  Parents must pay all fees for travel expenses including toll roads and parking, if applicable.




Please consider the following before filling out the form:
  • If you do not know for sure that you can commit to the day 100%, do not fill out form. 
  • Students are NOT ALLOWED to ride to the experience with you
  • Siblings and other family members are NOT allowed to come along. This includes infants.
  • Chaperones MUST stay the entire time UA is at the theater, you may not arrive late or leave early. 
  • Parents who are not chosen, please respect the process! If you show up to the experience and were not chosen to chaperone, you will not be allowed entry with our group. You will not receive Volunteer Hours and this behavior will disqualify you from participating in any chaperone lottery for the rest of the school year.

I understand that I must check in with the front desk, park in the South Lot & head to the classroom to help teachers carry lunches to the bus. A visible UA Visitors Sticker is REQUIRED to attend. In some cases, we need parents to transport the lunch coolers.  *
I understand that I must sign my student out with the teacher before I can leave the experience with them.
**If you are taking another student home in addition to your own, that child's parent MUST contact the teacher via email and give permission prior to the trip date. If that does not happen, the child will NOT be released to you.

I understand that if I do not get selected to chaperone and I show up anyway, I will NOT be allowed entry with our group. This event is ticketed for registered UA students, staff and assigned chaperones ONLY
