LSESU UN Society Outreach Division | Officer Applications
Welcome to Outreach!

Outreach is dedicated to improving human development through volunteering and campaigning initiatives. We spread awareness about key global issues and celebrate UN international days. We also provide training sessions in volunteering and discussion panels on different aspects of the charity sector.

We have three exclusive officer openings in Outreach. We welcome applications from both undergraduates and postgraduates. As an Outreach officer, you acquire volunteering skills alongside those of event planning, leadership, coordination, communication and many others. Additionally, Outreach provides a great platform to practice and improve your networking skills and the gain in-depth knowledge of the functioning of a society
These are all transferrable skills that would look attractive on a resume/CV.

Role Descriptions:

Awareness officer:
Your role would consist of organising fundraising events to celebrate specific UN international days or other relevant events. You will have the right to choose which UN days you would like to involve Outreach in.Then, you would need to choose the best-suited organisation, find a creative idea for fundraising or awareness-raising, organise the fundraising and execute it on the event day.

SolidariTee officer:
Your role would consist of representing a national, student-led campaign to raise money for legal aid for refugees. This would involve campaigning to sell merchandise (all proceeds go towards raising money for Advocates Abroad, the charity that SolidariTee fundraises for) and collaborating with other societies in the SU to put on insightful events. President of Blue Dragon:
Blue Dragon Foundation is a Vietnam-based NGO that helps street children in situations of poverty, forced labour, and human trafficking. Blue Dragon provides support to these street children through their numerous programmes and ensures that no vulnerable child is left behind. Your role would be to organize weekly meetings with the team to discuss upcoming events, organize fundrasising events, alone or in collaboration with other societies. We look for good team-working abilities, problem solving and crisis management especially when dealing with the Student Union, creativity, and openness to inter-societal collaboration.
