Ballot to Approve Proposed OCTE Constitution Changes
The Oregon Council of Teachers of English is proposing several changes to the OCTE Constitution, revisions which more accurately reflect the current operation of the Council. The major changes are:

* renaming the executive board as Board of Directors, to distinguish it more clearly from the Executive Committee (i.e., the officers of the Council).
* renaming the executive secretary as Historian, to distinguish that officer from the board's Secretary.
* adding the word "literacy" to several of the organization's purposes, and adding several new purposes which reflect the changing field of language arts/literacy.
* adding the website, social media, and electronic communication to OCTE's operation.

The Constitution requires that the revision be approved by the OCTE membership.  You may submit the ballot through regular mail (please refer to the ballot in the OCTE newsletter sent to you last month and mail it to: OCTE P.O. Box 9126 Portland, OR 97207-9126), OR you may submit your ballot using this online form.

Please do not submit both a paper and electronic ballot.

All submissions must be received before May 1, 2015.
