"Pitch, please!"
Cervantes Institute - Thursday, October 9th, 14:30

Pitch, please!
It is back with a bang with its 7th edition! The workshop is meant for filmmakers from Romania and Moldova who have animated short film projects in the pre-production phase and are looking for financing sources. The workshop offers creators in this field an exceptional opportunity to perfect their projects under the guidance of established professionals. Participants will benefit from an intensive mentoring program, focused on pitching techniques and story development. Thus, they will be prepared to pitch convincingly their ideas in front of a jury of experts and an informed public.

The projects compete for four prizes this year: the participation of one project at the Rise&Shine animation pitching lab for young talents (Croatia and Slovenia) and the automatic qualification, transport and accommodation costs included, for three projects (two with Romanian authors and one with Moldovan authors) at the Black Sea Animation Workshop 2025 (Bulgaria).

The selected teams will be trained over five days, during Animest 2025, by two experienced mentors in the industry: screenwriter and director Cristian Pascariu and animator and director Dan Panaitescu. They will provide participants with valuable creative and technical knowledge to elevate their projects to a new level.
The jury is made up of animation professionals: Mariam Kandelaki (Georgia/Germany, film producer, initiator of the Black Sea Animation Workshop project), Matea Milić (Croatia, producer of the Animafest Zagreb festival, co-founder of the Rise&Shine workshop) and Damian Groves (Romania/UK, director, screenwriter and producer of StudioSet).
