Red Watch Band Student Facilitator Nomination Form

The Red Watch Band program is a bystander intervention program developed by Stony Brook University. The mission of this program is to:

"provide students of the college community with the knowledge, awareness, and skills to prevent toxic drinking deaths, and to promote a student culture of kindness, responsibility, compassion, and respect."

The Red Watch Band program will be housed in Student Life under the Wellness program, with Greg Lonning as the faculty advisor. In addition, a student intern and board of eight Red Watch Band Student Facilitators will:
- be trained in the program
- work to recruit students for training each fall and spring
- plan and facilitate the training sessions
- work closely with the advisor to continue to develop the program in a way that will best fit the needs of our campus.

This board will include: two student athletes (one male and one female), two music students (one male and one female), one Inter-Greek Council representative, and three students at large. To recruit students to serve on this board for the ‘13-’14 academic year, we are asking you to submit names (student athletes, music students, any other students who may have interest) by April 5, 2013.
