2018-19 Pre-Professional Company Auditions
PPC is an audition based program for students who are looking for a professional training experience in Musical Theatre. Students are divided in Specific Companies based on age and ability. The overall goal of PPC is to improve overall technique, prepare students for college and career training, and to provide performance opportunities that help students grow as performing artists. PPC members study with Broadway and Professional Teaching Artists and are offered classes in voice, musical theatre, acting the song, auditioning technique, college prep, ballet, jazz, tap, Theatre dance (different styles and genres) and nutrition. Performance opportunities at ZACH as well as at other community events around Austin.

AUDITIONS 4th-8th Grade:
Saturday, August 18 | DANCE CALL 9:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m. | 10:30-1:00 p.m. Audition Appointments

AUDITIONS 9th-12th Grade:
Mondays, August 13 and August 20| Dance Call 6:30-:8:15 p.m.| Audition appointments 4:30-5:30 p.m. and 8:30-10:00 p.m.

AUDITION APPOINTMENTS:
Please arrive 15 minutes early and with a head shot and resume.
Requirements: Two contrasting, 32 bar cuts of a song (Sheet music) and a one minute monologue. We will have an accompanist, so please do not sing with a track or acapella. ALL Students are required to attend a dance call on the same day of their audition time. Please know that you may be in the audition room from 1- 10 ten minutes. Each audition is different, so please do not get discouraged if your student is only in the room for a short period of time. Please be prepared for the possibility to wait longer than your scheduled audition time.

Onsite auditions are strongly preferred. However, You may send in a video submission if you are unable to attend audition dates.
Deadline for materials is August 15, 2018.
Please email your head shot, resume and video of your two contrasting songs (we would like to see the entire song, not a cut), your monologue and any additional footage of you dancing.

DANCE CALL:
Students will follow a warm up and also be taught choreography. All students should wear appropriate clothes to move in. Suggested attire: Leotard or fitted tank top, tights, dance skirt or shorts. Dance shoes.

Fall Semester- students meet once a week for classes: College Prep, Dance, Voice, Musical Theatre Scene Study, and Choreography. Spring Semester- Students work on material for the Spring Showcase and ZACH Gala.

PPC A: Grades 4th- 8th
Mondays | 4:30- 7:30 p.m.
1.5 hours Dance technique
1.5 hours Audition technique, Acting Fundamentals, Musical Theatre Workshop

PPC B: Grades 8th-10th
Mondays | 5:30- 9:15 p.m.
1.5 hours Dance Technique
1.5 hours Musical Theatre workshop, MT Audition technique
1.0 hours Material | Choreography

PPC ELITE: Grades 10th-12th
Sundays | 1:00- 8:30 p.m.
This Company has a 5 hour class rotation

PPC RETREATS ARE MANDATORY:

Spring semester- students will continue their technique work while rehearsing for the PPC Musical Showcase. The PPC showcase is designed to highlight students specific performance abilities and their skills learned.
