The Aviary Community Questionnaire
Welcome to The Aviary, the science fiction and fantasy community for alumni of the MLitt in Fantasy Literature program at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. We're here for the alumni community and the fantasy community at large, and we'd love to know your thoughts!

An aviary is often called a bird sanctuary, and for alumni of the MLitt in Fantasy Literature at the University of Glasgow, The Aviary is a home for all things related to fantasy and science fiction, including alumni and community events, writing projects, book clubs, a brand new anthology (launching winter 2025!), a quarterly literary magazine (launching spring 2026!), and more. Like birds who fly to destinations for the seasons, so too do students flock to the University of Glasgow for the master's in fantasy literature program before roosting or flying away once more. The Aviary started as a place for alumni to stay connected in academic pursuits and writing projects and has since grown into the greater fantasy-reading community. With book clubs, open mic nights, alumni socials, and more, The Aviary is the place birds can safely pause, rest, and relax.


Call for Alumni Submissions!

The Aviary is accepting submissions for an unofficial anthology tentatively titled "A Fantasy Program Unlike Any Other: An anthology of the first ten years of the University of Glasgow's master's in fantasy literature program." The anthology will hopefully be released in December 2025--just in time for the tenth cohort's graduation! The anthology is open for all alumni and University of Glasgow faculty of the fantasy program, and we are looking forward to reading your submissions!
