The Performing Garage has been The Wooster Group’s permanent home and performance space since its founding - and all The Group’s work has been developed here. With support from the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation and other generous donors we are now able to establish a residency program for artists working in all disciplines of contemporary arts and design offering free space and time to develop work. In addition to performing artists, we encourage applications from visual artists, artists working in the moving image and digital media, architects and designers- anyone at all whose interests may intersect with performance ideas and actions and would like some time and a place to work.
Residencies may follow any of the three scenarios described below and may be used to advance work in any stage of development. All residencies offer free space, technical assistance and a page on
www.theperforminggarage.org. Residencies with a public/audience component include an honorarium in addition.
