We are excited to have you as one of our Artists at The Local Artisan Collective’s 2025 4th annual Sidewalk Chalk Art Competition. This is a chance for you and your art to be highlighted during our store's 9th Birthday Party!
The Local Artisan Collective will provide: sidewalk chalk, shirt with "ARTIST" on the back, shout outs on our social media, multiple prizes given for different categories. Bathroom and drinking fountains available through out the event.
Artwork for the festival must be appropriate for public viewing and be family friendly. No profanity, political commentary, nudity or adult content is allowed. Inclusion of any of these items will result in immediate removal of the competition.
All sidewalk squares will be assigned upon arrival. Adult/Teen squares will be approximately 4 x 4 while children squares will be approximately 3 x 3. A large ruler will be provided so you can place your square where you would like it on the sidewalk square. Artists can decide to fill the entire square if desired.
Some chalk will be provided; however, if the artist is using a predominant color in their design, they may want to purchase that color before the festival (or if you want a specific color). Only non-oil-based soft chalk/pastels in a solid form may be used for the sidewalk painting. You can also use washable paint. Acrylic paints, spray can pastels/chalk, spray field chalk, oil-based pastels, hard pastels etc. are not acceptable. Artist can trace a design but will not be considered for any award.
Artists are asked to start working on their chalk drawings no later than 1pm.
Artists can be any age. The children's category is for those 11 and under, teen category is 12 to 18. The adult category is 19 and up.
Artists agree to share this event on their Social Media / Website as well as invite friends and family.
Enter as soon as possible. We will close the event when spots are full.
Judging will happen on the day of the competition at 5:00 pm with awards given out at 6:00 pm. There will be the following categories for winners: Best of Award Given for the Adult as well as Best of Teen category. There will also be an Overall Winner and Spookiest Winner. All children 11 and under will be awarded a Gift Bag.
Every artist will be assigned a number when they check in. The number must be by your chalk art if you would like to be entered to win.
Registration fee is $5. We will send you an invoice to the email that you give us below.
