UMD Guatemala Summer Field School 2018: Application
Thank you for your interest in the 2018 Guatemala Summer Field School. The school will include 2 weeks of intensive language-learning (Kaqchikel) and 2 weeks of mentored research in Patzún, Guatemala. The program is administered by the University of Maryland's Language Science Center (LSC) in partnership with the NGO Wuqu' Kawoq / Maya Health Alliance.

The cost for the 4 week program is $2,675. We also offer an option to participate ONLY in the 2 week Kaqchikel language school, and the standard cost for the 2 week program is $1,550. There are a limited number of places for the 2-week-only option, and priority will be given to NGO workers and interns with Wuqu' Kawoq. We hope to offer reduced program fees to certain groups of participants, including NGO workers/volunteers, Guatemalan residents, and participants who are entirely self-funded.

Applications are due by MONDAY, MARCH 5, 2018. Please contact the Language Science Center at if you have questions or are unable to meet this deadline for any reason.
