Art Hunt Maricel Palace. Option B (+7 years )
You have just entered the Palau Maricel (ho deixem així, que queda una mica diferent i s'entén), a Palace that is over 100 years old!
Where you are standing right now used to be a fishermen's neighbourhood.  An American billionaire called Charles Deering bought several of these fishermen's cottages, and in its place, he built this Palace.  He enjoyed collecting artwork and wanted to find a nice place to keep his findings.

Entrance from the Maricel Palace to the Racó de la Calma (The Calm Corner)
This Palace has its coat of arms, which has to do with its landscape: the sea and the sky. If you look at the picture on this emblem, what can you see? You can keep track of this emblem all over the Palace.  We challenge you to find them all and keep count! *

If you inspect the walls,  you will spot some wild animals. What animals are these?
THE HALL

Next, walk up the stairs, and you'll see a large room used for gatherings. This space is the reception hall, and it's where wealthy Mr Deering received his guests.

We ask you to find a Saint George and some princesses (hint: it is not on the ground, and it touches the light) *

Now that you've found our Saint George, you need to find his Cross. It's red on a white background  (hint: Check if your shoes are well laced)

The purpose of this hall was to have a place to get together for parties and celebrations. Mr Deering had it all decorated with modern art. If you look at the colours of this room you will guess what it's called :               *

THE CHAPEL
Now we invite you to head to the side room. It's a room that reminds us of a chapel. It is for this reason that we call it the chapel room.
Look at the floor; there are black and white tiles. Of what game does it remind you? *

TERRACES
When Mr Deering lived in Sitges (across the street, where today is the Maricel Museum), this terrace resembled a garden: It had a lovely fountain decorated with plants. Even now, in spring, lots of swallows come to nest. Why? Because when they built the terrace, they left pockets so the birds could breed.
Where do you think that these swallows make their nests? Can you spot any? (Hint: you'll have to lift your head.)

Now that you've reached the Terraces of the Palace, notice that the tiles decorate all the walls. There is one in particular that it's named the carrot tile. Can you find it? Where is it?
CLOISTER
At the top of the columns that you see in this room, there is an element known as a capital, which is often decorated with sculptures.
In one of the capitals, there is a plane like this one. Try to spot it.
Looking at these pictures, which building would you say most closely resembles where you are? *
