Tamworth Labour Residents' Survey on Tamworth Borough Council
The previous Conservative administration's budget requires the council to dip into its reserve (savings) to the tune of around a massive £1.1 million this year, £3.2 million year 2025/26 and a whopping £4.7 million in year 2026/27. If we do not start to act now it could leave Tamworth Borough Council with no reserves and unable to fund all its services in years to come. This is a result of the chronic underfunding of local government by successive Conservative governments over the last 14 years. We are working hard with our new chief executive to bring our budget back onto a sustainable footing.
