DELAC Election Nomination SY 23/24
DELAC stands for District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)

The purpose of this committee, like all language-based ELACs, is to advise the Office Of Multilingual & Multicultural Education regarding issues related to  Multilingual Learners (MLs)

Members of DELAC represent OMME and ML related needs at various district-sponsored meetings such as EL-Task Force, Equity Roundtables, etc.


Consists of representatives from ELAC groups, ML parents, School Parent Councils, Boston Public Schools, and other community members.

ELECTION  RULES:
1) Nominations are open to ML parents or guardians
2) Any DELAC member may nominate him/herself or someone else who will be present the day of elections
3) DELAC members who will not be present on the day of election will not be considered
4) Voting to be completed by January 15, 2023
5) Voting has to be done in person (1 person=1 vote)
6) Only an ML parent can be nominated for the positions
7) BPS staff who are ML parents cannot run for a DELAC position
