HVCT Audition form for: Mary Poppins, Jr.
HVCT's production of Mary Poppins Jr. is a show for Muir, Oak Valley, and White Lake Middle School students. Performance dates are October 18, 19 and 20 in the Little Theatre at Milford High School.

Learn the show by attending the optional workshop on Wednesday, September 4 from 6:30 - 8 pm at Country Oaks Elementary.

Auditions will be held on September 9 & 10 from 6:30 - 8:30 pm in the Country Oaks Elementary Music Room. You will be asked to read a scene from the script and sing a song of your choice. You're only required to attend one of these audition dates, but welcome to come to both.

Most rehearsals will take place at Country Oaks Elementary School on weeknights from 6:00-8:30 pm. There may also be two or three weekend rehearsals.

We have a very short rehearsal period. If you are cast as a main character, you will need to be at 3-4 rehearsals every week. Chorus members will need to be at 2-3 rehearsals every week. Everyone will need to be at all rehearsals in the last two weeks prior to the performances (October 3 - 17).

There will be a participation fee of $75 for everyone cast in the show. This helps to cover the costs of the production, including royalties, scripts, scenery and costumes, custodial fees, show t-shirt and the cast party. You will also be asked to provide some basic costume, makeup items and cookies, snacks or water for concessions. If this is financially difficult for your family, please talk to Mr. Marquis or Mrs. Biondo. We don't want anyone to miss out on participating just because of money.

Every character and every actor in a show is a piece of a puzzle, and the director has to find the best way to fit all of the pieces together. It is not ever appropriate to ask a director why someone was cast or not cast in the show or in a particular part.

Calm, cooperative behavior is expected at rehearsals. Bring something quiet to do in case you have to wait for your turn to rehearse. If Mr. Marquis or any HVCT volunteer has to talk to you repeatedly about your behavior, you might not be allowed to continue to participate.

Participating in a big show like this is exciting, but it is a major time commitment. Casting decisions will be made partly based on the ability to attend rehearsals. Roles may be reassigned if you must miss many rehearsals.

We will need lots of adult help with organizing ticket sales and program ads, making and organizing costumes, painting scenery, supervising kids during performances, concessions, cast party, etc. so parents/guardians please consider where you can help and we'll ask for your assistance as the show gets closer.

Regardless of the day you choose to audition, complete this form BEFORE 3 pm, Monday, September 9. Additionally, print a copy of this form and bring it with you to the audition.

If you have any questions about audition process, please contact Mr. Marquis at: doug.marquis@hvs.org and contact Mrs. Biondo at busybees123@comcast.net or 248.766.6649 with questions about this audition form.

Looking forward to seeing you at auditions!
