We are excited to announce a Unified Soccer Team with the Sacramento Republic FC and Special Olympics! We are looking for people who are interested in being a Unified Partner on the team.
WHAT IS A UNIFIED TEAM?
Special Olympics is dedicated to promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition experiences. Unified Sports joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. It was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.
In Unified Sports, teams are made up of people of similar age and ability. That makes practices more fun and games more challenging and exciting for all. Having sport in common is just one more way that preconceptions and false ideas are swept away.

TEAM COMMITMENT AND EXPECTATIONS
Unified Partners are expected to attend practices (6-8 weeks from August to October) and the final exhibition game in October against another Unified Team.
This season will include a home game against another Unified Team and a Sacramento Republic Unified / SONC co-branded jersey to keep. The 2024 season (beginning in March) will include the above, plus an away game and a media signing day. Those who participate this year will be invited to participate in 2024 as well.
