In today’s rapidly evolving world of innovation, microcontrollers such as Arduino and Raspberry Pi play an important role in transforming ideas into reality and elevating projects to the next level. While Arduino serves as an excellent platform for simple, task-oriented applications, Raspberry Pi emerges as a more powerful and versatile solution for handling complex and advanced projects. To make programming on the Raspberry Pi more accessible and beginner-friendly, MicroPython—a lightweight and simplified version of Python—offers an ideal starting point for the beginners.
On the occasion of IEEE Day 2025, IEEE NSU Robotics and Automation Society Student Branch Chapter is organizing a workshop titled “Introduction to MicroPython and Raspberry Pi Pico 2.0” aimed to provide participants a head-start in exploring the capability of Raspberry Pi and MicroPython. You will get hands-on experience in coding and hardware integration and see how it can be applied in real life projects. The session will cover the basics of MicroPython and its applications. Furthermore, it will provide a brief idea about how MicroPython interacts with Raspberry Pi Pico. Some key concepts such as - Digital inputs and outputs, Analog inputs, PWM outputs, If-else statements and loops will be discussed. The session will also feature a demonstration of an advanced application, showcasing how these fundamental concepts can be extended into more complex projects.
Join us for this exciting and informative workshop to start your journey of MicroPython with Raspberry Pi Pico.
PS. Please note that you must bring your own laptop for the workshop with the following softwares installed in it:
