LGBTQ+ youth in the United States
disproportionately face houselessness. Specifically, LGBTQ+ youth have a 120% higher risk of experiencing some form of houselessness compared to their non-LGBTQ+ peers, and 40% of the 4.2 million youth experiencing homelessness identifying as LGBTQ+ while only making up 9.5% of the U.S. population.
Voters of Tomorrow believes that the fight for LGBTQ+ rights cannot begin and end with pride month, and hopes to encourage sustained action to reduce the disproportionate rate at which LGBTQ+ youth face houselessness.
VOT is launching an initiative to match VOT chapters, members, and other interested individuals with shelters in their area recruiting volunteers (whenever possible, volunteers will be matched with youth volunteers).
Once you fill out this form, you can expect to be matched with a shelter and receive your match within the week, via the email listed. With any questions or concerns, please reach out to Voters of Tomorrow Deputy Political Director Ava Pallotta (ava@votersoftomorrow.org)
