Candidates for the Board must be graduates of the University. They will have had prior involvement with the Association, either through committees or elsewhere within the University, should regularly support the Alumni Annual Giving program, be willing to attend meetings of the Board and fulfill other duties, and fully support the mission of the Association and the University.
Alumni Association mission:The Association sustains a lifelong bond with alumni by promoting the University's commitment to innovate, transform and lead through technical achievement, entrepreneurship and professional excellence.
Lawrence Tech mission:To develop innovative and agile leaders through a student-centric learning environment and applied research embracing theory and practice.
Any member of the Association may nominate a regular member of the Association to fill a vacancy on the Board.
Board member expectations:
Board members are expected to represent the alumni body as a whole and to generally act on behalf of the affiliates and the general membership. Board members should expect to attend regularly scheduled (quarterly) meetings as well as University and Association events. Members of the board will oversee the general operations of the Association including but not limited to approving the Association's annual operating budget, recommending amendments to the bylaws, reviewing reports and recommendations of committees and implement recommendations, and approving and appointing the officers of the Association. Board members will also be expected to serve on a committee within the Association (service, events, affinity & outreach, etc.).
Nominations will close on Thursday, May 30, 2019. Voting begins on Monday, June 10, 2019.
