The Manning Family Be Fearless Scholarship is offered by the Manning Family, to celebrate the lives of Bobby, Patricia, Tammy (Tamara Manning Gross; Class of 1990), and Zach (Winsted; WES student). Bobby and Patricia instilled kindness, a vigorous work ethic, and selflessness in their children and grandchildren. Having come from humble beginnings, Bobby and Patricia found within themselves the ability to be kind to their neighbors, raise four WHS grads, and serve the Waynesville community. Their example to do the right thing formed the character of their family and is remembered throughout the community.

The Be Fearless Scholarship is designed to recognize a high school senior who exemplifies fearless leadership with kindness and integrity, even when it is challenging or unpopular. The high school senior is driven by their curiosity and thirst for knowledge to pursue either post-secondary education via a vocational school, training program, community college or university; or enlist in a branch of the United States Armed Services.
