YES! I'd like to help the Norwalk River Valley Trail.
Just like our Trail is universally accessible to all, our volunteer needs mean there is something for everyone to do.

TRAIL MAINTENANCE - With spring here in full force, there's clean-up happening on the Trail. We are building 'Trail Tender' teams for various sections of completed trail where volunteers ‘own’ a section of our Trail.  Some clearing of major debris may require operating a chainsaw and the ability to lift heavy things.

CT TRAIL CENSUS COUNT - The NRVT works with UCONN's  Connecticut Trail Census - a statewide volunteer-based data collection and education program on multi-use trails. We will be collecting data on the NRVT Norwalk at Union Park and the Wilton Loop to provide information on Trail usage.  You will receive information ahead of time on the program and instructions on how to take an accurate count. This is a great task to do in pairs. Actual count is 1 hour long starting at the top of the hour with set-up and breakdown time before and after.   (In the case of inclement weather, counts will be rescheduled).
BOARD DEVELOPMENT - The biggest part of the NRVT's mission is to keep building more Trail connecting Norwalk to Danbury through Wilton, Ridgefield, and Redding.  With our Sate, regional, and local leaders, we continue to apply (and receive) Federal and State funding for this legacy project.  This means that we have a lot of work to do in the next 3-5 years and we are building our organizational capacity to tap into these current, "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunities.  Might your time and talent be a good fit for us?
