We are hosting a LightSound workshop in Cape Town at the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) on the 15th of August, as part of the International Astronomical Union General Assembly (IAU GA) conference.
LightSound is an innovative project from Harvard's AstroLab, converting light from celestial objects into sound. It aims to make astronomy more accessible and engaging, particularly for visually impaired individuals, by providing a unique auditory experience of the universe. Learn more.
The workshop will run from 14:00 to 16:00 on the 15th. Participants will have the opportunity to assemble LightSound devices.
* Devices will be in limited supply, and priority for keeping the completed devices will be given to schools or science centers.
* We will inform successful applicants on the 9th of August.
