Uptown Community Conversation with the CTA
Four CTA stations (Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn, and Bryn Mawr) will be rebuilt, expanded, and modernized, while adding elevators that provide access for people with disabilities and improve convenience for the elderly and riders with carts, strollers, and bags. CTA’s proposal to shut down the Lawrence Red Line stop for three years during both phases of the reconstruction plan appears to be an unusually harsh measure. So why is this necessary?
