(We will let you know the status of your application by February 28, 2022.)

Thank you for your interest in being part of the Coral Restoration Consortium’s Steering Committee!

The Coral Restoration Consortium Steering Committee (SC) is a 12-member body comprised of an Executive Team and Members-at-Large. Members-at-large serve four-year terms, and every two years, four new members are appointed. The SC serves to represent the broad range of perspectives of those stakeholders vested in the conservation and restoration of coral reefs. Therefore, the SC members should reflect a wide range of backgrounds, interests, and geographies. Potential members may come from any form of institution, geography, or stakeholder group, provided they and their organization are committed to reef restoration and have the time and interest to serve.

Key responsibilities of all SC members include:
Working collaboratively with the CRC leadership team to regularly review, revise, and adopt the CRC’s strategic plans and recommended priorities, in order to ensure that the CRC’s activities and resources are aligned with a changing world.
Regular review of the CRC’s deployment of resources in the furtherance of its mission. This includes assistance with fund raising and facilitating funding opportunities for the organization and its priorities (e.g. Reef Futures).
Contribute expertise to further the aims of the CRC including, but not limited to providing expert review and feedback on CRC priorities and products.
Participate actively on SC committees, sub-committees and CRC Groups (Working, Regional and ad-hoc), and help plan in-person leadership meetings and Reef Futures Symposia.
Prepare for and regularly attend SC meetings, either in person or via approved teleconference.
Keep discussions, reports, and all CRC proprietary information confidential.
Be an ambassador for the CRC including: attending CRC events and sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for CRC’s mission, facilitating international collaboration and the open flow of information between the CRC and international stakeholders (academic, management, restoration, community etc.).
Find new and creative ways to utilize your particular talents, expertise, abilities, and network to further the CRC’s mission.
Adhere to and promote the highest standards of ethics and integrity.

To date, SC members average one day per month in their time commitment between organized calls and independent work. Time commitments can be higher during times of planning and attendance of annual meetings, workshops, and Reef Futures.

For a full list of the responsibilities of a Working Group Chair please read the CRC Governance Document on our website. And please reach out to info@crc.world with any questions or to chat about this opportunity.
