HOME EDUCATION HIGH SCHOOL/MIDDLE SCHOOL ADVISING
Directors@takeheed.org HEED Director, Sue Puchferran, is available for individual academic counseling appointments. We feel it is imperative that every family has an academic plan for their student as early as middle school. This planning ensures your student will be prepared for the next step in their educational journey.
The 60-75 minute appointment will enable you as parents to complete an individual scope and sequence for your student, and will answer your questions on Florida H.S. law, courses, transcripts, testing, record keeping, graduation and credit requirements, NCAA records, dual enrollment, AP, CLEP, scholarships, college applications and more.
Please bring a list of any high school courses your student has completed.
Sue has been handling academic questions for over a decade. Sue has years of experience advising HEED students, and has worked with hundreds of families on their planning, preparation and acceptance to numerous colleges, graduate schools, law schools, medical school, and other career directions. Sue serves on the board of the Home Education Foundation, lobbying to protect our rights as Home Educators in Florida.
Initial Academic Appointments for HEED students (60-75 minutes) $150.00 and $125 for a second Student
Annual Follow Up appointments $100.00/student
For the Home School High School Handbook, Completing the Journey, by Sue Puchferran $25.00 donation to HEF
Parents often inquire if they should have their student attend the advising meeting. Sue’s recommendation is that for the first visit for students in grades 7-10, she would prefer students not attend, but for students who are in grades 10-12 it may be beneficial for students to attend with parents the first meeting or any follow up meetings.
