Below are the advance cohort offerings for 2026. Please rank the options (1-highest priority). A representative from the individual cohorts that you selected will reach out to you.
Fundamentals: Applications: This program follows the initial cohort fundamentals, focusing on practical tactics and actions. The program will have six themes, focused on building effective leaders through training in productivity, team and resource management, people development, collaboration, change leadership, innovation, and ethical decision-making.
Prerequisite:
Completion of MPLA Leadership Fundamentals Cohort prior to August 2026
Member Commitment:
- Monthly 1-hour group meetings at designated times with cohort
- Approximately 1-2 hours of pre-work including reading and videos each month (asynchronous)
- Facilitation of 1 session throughout the year
Pathways to Leadership in AAPM: This program is designed to help you understand the organization, observe current leaders, and discuss leadership strategies within the volunteer organization. Over the course of 6 months, you will meet with a cohort to discuss how to lead within AAPM.
Prerequisite:
Completion of MPLA Leadership Fundamentals Cohort prior to August 2026
Member Commitment:
- Monthly 1-hour group meetings at designated times with cohort
- Approximately 3-5 hours of pre-work including reading and videos each month (asynchronous)
- Attendance for board of directors meeting and two additional organizational meetings of choice for approximately 8 hours
Cases Cohort: MPLA cases are developed to facilitate the education and development of leadership skills by medical physicists . Members of this cohort will read, discuss, and analyze cases to meet certain objectives of their leadership education.
