We are accepting poetry and prose submissions by Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and their family members as part of Words of War, a fundraiser to support comprehensive mental healthcare for military veterans. The event will benefit Headstrong Project, Team Rubicon, Team RWB, and Student Veterans of America.  Selected submissions will be edited and published in an e-book.  

One writer, selected by a panel of leading authors, will be flown to New York City for an all-expense paid trip to read their piece at Words of War on May 8, 2013 and to participate in a pre-event Google Hangout discussion about the importance of sharing war stories to document the wartime experience.
