A Nationwide Choir - Singers for Change

Voices of Singapore proudly unveils its latest youth endeavour, the Voices of Singapore Youth Choir (VYC). Orchestrated under the baton of VOS’ Artistic Director, Dr. Darius Lim, the VYC is a haven for exceptionally skilled choristers, musicians, and composers who aspire to be agents of change through their musical talents. This choral program, structured on a project basis. The debut season earlier in the year concluded with a live concert with VOCES8, together with recordings and music videos with the world renowned British ensemble.

All accepted singers will be awarded a full, comprehensive scholarship that covers the costs of choral tutelage, administrative fees, and all expenses related to concert programming and management worth SGD$3000. Beyond Voices of Singapore's national-level programs, the VYC extends its reach through an international touring program, featuring concert tours in Singapore and various international destinations, offering a wide platform for artistic growth and cultural engagement. The programme will also provide outreach avenues with VOS' community impact programmes for the underprivileged.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Age: Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of application.

  • Residency: Applicants must be residing in Singapore. This includes permanent residents and individuals with work or student passes.

  • Rehearsal Location: All rehearsals will take place in-person at Voices of Singapore, located at Capitol Theatre in City Hall.

  • Tenure: Acceptance into the Youth Choir Programme includes a tenure of 1 year, with the possibility of renewal upon expiry.
